Neil Gray (IFTC) has kindly provided copies of the Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser (CFRA) guidance on BA Command and Control Procedures. These are the proposals for the review and update of TB 1/97. The copies attached were tested at the Fire Service College in March and we understand a couple of changes have since been made.

There are a number of fairly significant changes proposed in these documents (including the incorporation of NICS, CFBT intelligence, IPDS role maps etc).

The attached documents are only a draft at present and not accepted practice; therefore members should not take them as gospel, but rather a look forward to future amendments

AFOA would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Neil Gray on achieving his new role as CAA Inspector and wish him well for the future.

Mark Lakin is currently discussing the need for a set of safety stairs for the upper deck rescue of pax from an A380/747.  He believes Manchester Airport can meet the requierments without the need of stairs. No other aerodrome has this a prerequisite. Mark would be grateful for your views and opinions on how you would/do train for this eventuality.  Please contact Mark directly at mark.lakin@manairport.co.uk

Ray Oliver is putting together a presenation on CAP328 (MOR) and is seeking some help to produce a generic presentation that would be shared with AFOA on completion.  This subject was a recent audit item for London City Airport and may be of general interest to the industry.
